THE BEAUTY SAYS…

My name is Kiran Sharma and I am 17 years old. I wrote this poem ‘The Beauty Says…’ when I was shocked to realize how some standards of beauty have been set (by I don’t know whom), but we are expected to follow it. We blindly try to reach those standards not realizing that we are beautiful in our original skin and in a very unique way. No one can decide if I am pretty or not. It hasn’t been written anywhere that only fair skin and slim body with clear skin is only beautiful. I want to convey this message to all the ladies out there who think they are not good enough that “don’t listen to them, you are pretty and you should know it.”
The Beauty Says…
She is beautiful but not only when her hair falls perfectly,
And he wants to get lost in them
Sadly her beauty is wrapped with fear of “what will they say”
When she takes off the wig, looking at herself in the mirror.
Where her beauty was supposed to stand out with confidence even with a bald head.
She is beautiful but not only when her skin is spotless.
Sadly her beauty is covered with the products
Which amusingly claim to get her job and a boyfriend
And with the fear of “what people will say”
And its advantage is being taken by companies that claim to make
her a millionaire only by using a cream night and day.
Where her beauty was supposed to shine out
Even with pimples and marks on her face.
She is not beautiful only when her body is “32” “26” “28”.
She is beautiful even with the body which stops her from
trying the dress she always wanted
Where her beauty was supposed to stand out fierce even in more than one XL .
The beauty says she is beautiful,
She…is beautiful in every way…
In every single way, for I have different shades.
