FOR THOSE OF US WHO NEED TO B+ve

When I was younger, much… younger, I would scoff at people reading self-help books, people who would quote famous people on positivity and especially those who would keep saying positive things and you’ll soon start to feel that way in reality.

While I’m still not entirely sold on the idea of talking yourself into being positive and randomly quoting others, I do believe that one can take concrete steps to cultivate an attitude of positivity.

The funny thing is though, that we learn about positivity and how elusive it is only in the face of adversity which leaves us dealing with negative emotions and thoughts. And while positivity is over rated, not fully understood, and often used (unwittingly though) to make people feel even more miserable, when accessed within ourselves gently, it can make a world of difference to us.

So positivity is best cultivated quietly, patiently and methodically.

Now, there’s no guarantee that once it’s cultivated, it will stay with you forever. You will be constantly tested and thrown into pools of negativity every now and then. And it’s natural for you to get enveloped by those negative feelings, but that’s when positivity comes into play. It’s only when you will be faced with difficulties and situations where you find it impossible to be hopeful and positive, will you have to dig into that attitude that you have cultivated and fish for tools that you have collected and skills you have developed, to be positive in the face of adversity. It is only when your positive attitude is threatened, is when you need it the most and when it shines.

Being positive and upbeat is not easy. It takes work and commitment. On some days it’s so hard that you want to just throw it all away and settle for the comfort of unhappiness and dejection.

But march on my friend!

Read books on positivity, listen to people who are consciously and sub-consciously sharing tools with you with, work on skills that help you develop a positive attitude, interact with people who are working through their problems in a positive manner, say silent prayers for yourself, you may also talk to yourself in front of a mirror, read quotes, feel inspired, and indulge in the paraphernalia. But do so with intent. Touch upon every aspect, access every resource, indulge in every effort; some of it will be trash for you, but something will work.

And when that magic happens, you will start finding yourself better equipped to deal with situations. You will not necessarily (and thankfully) be grinning from ear to ear when you’re neck deep in problems, but you will certainly find the grace and strength within yourself to walk out of it unbroken and ready for more.

Wonderfull article by the Wonder Woman. Yes this is absolutely correct. At the same time positivity and negativity are 2 sides of the same coin . But the real truth is the coin itself which is the mid path between both. And as you know, THAT is the state of EQUANIMITY. The state in which you carry the burden of both in equal measure. Love you.
