PERIOD POEM!

Alas! You display my progeny
But do hush hush about my anatomy.
You make birth a ceremony
But the process of birthing an anomaly.

The flows give me glows
And my high and my lows
My biology is my vanity
The pride of my femininity

This blood is behind the blood of your brood
You are accepting the flower, but hate the juice of the bud!
Don’t make this blood, a bloody taboo
This is the reason that gives life to me and you

It is the essence of a woman’s core
Of her stories of present and of yore.
It is not something bad and odd
You owe your breath to this…period!
