AN INVALUABLE BOND, by Divya RT
Following is my interpretation of my bond with Michael Jackson as an artist. Though it’s a fairly inexplicable perception, I’ve tried to put it into words.
He was a man who stood out in a crowd; he was different – to me he was different because of his simplicity, and powerful thoughts and their strong expression
He was soft spoken; he was shy – to me he was one with the loudest voice with the strongest reach as his songs spoke for him; they spoke to me
He was crazy; mentally not normal – to me that reflected creativity, his way of dealing with issues that affected him
He looked different; an atypical not representative of anything “normally human” – to me he represented the strength with which he anyway faced the world and won it over
He had flaws and did unacceptable things (apparently) – to me he seemed human
He should be eternally un forgiven – his actions will earn/would have earned him his karma; who are we to speculate?
He is one of the strongest inspirations to many even today – to me, he was made to inspire me
He is one of the greatest singers to walk the planet – to me he is a person who can just by virtue of his existence, create more singers as great as him
The sea of people that would turn up at his shows was unfathomable – to me that kind of thing happening to anybody as passionate and hardworking IS finally fathomable, is palpable
He could’ve used more love and support during some phases of his life – to me he is one who makes me say “now I’m going to make it with or without you”
The day he passed was a sad day – that day was an awakening for me as it kindled emotions in me that I never imagined I’d feel
His attempts at spreading love were overshadowed by conspiracies surrounding him – No! It came through to people like me and we will pay it forward.
