DIWALI, by ANN GEO
Diwali or Dipawali – the Indian festival of lights gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. Indians celebrate Diwali with worship, family gatherings, glittering clay lamps, festive fireworks, strings of electric lights, bonfires, flowers.
Here are a few of my ideas to get creative and liven up your Diwali lamps (diyas) in easy yet classy ways. All you need is a glue and a few embellishments such as sequins, rhinestones and glitter.
Use rhinestones to add that extra sparkle.
Sprinkle some fairy dust (glitter) on your diyas.
Use colorful sequins to create unique designs.
Liven up candle holders too in the same way.
Happy Diwali!
